£40

What the Panel Is

This test measures the level of Cancer Antigen 125 (CA-125) in the blood. While CA-125 is a tumour marker used primarily to monitor treatment effectiveness in diagnosed ovarian cancer, national guidlines also recommend it for initial investigation in women presenting with certain persistent, non-specific abdominal symptoms.

Tests Included

  • Cancer Antigen 125 (CA-125)

Important Pre-Test Information

  • Menstrual Cycle: CA-125 levels can naturally be slightly elevated during menstruation. If possible, the test should be performed outside of the menstrual period.
  • Note: CA-125 may be elevated by non-cancerous conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis, and pregnancy. This test is for screening and should be interpreted by a healthcare professional.
